ABOUT ALICE KARSTEN

Hello humans and internet surfing giraffes

I am a London-based creative who loves to make things!

After 4 years experience working on various film, theatre and TV productions, I have gained a number of different skills through the various roles I have had. My roles have included Set builder, Prop maker, art department assistant, production assistant and runner. Which means I can do everything from woodworking and air brushing to making a stella cup of coffee and ushering actors. This is an example of how proactive, flexible and adaptable I am.

I also have post-production experience as a transcriber, translator, editor and subtitler on various productions for Nordic Entertainment Group. Who provide international broadcast across Scandinavia. Proving that I am a hard-working, multi-faceted person with a broad skill set.

I have customer service experience from working for ArtsTemps and Oskubox. While working for both of these companies, I have worked a variety of events throughout the UK for a large variety of clientele. A lot of my roles while working for these companies have been in fast-paced, high pressure environments. Showing that I thrive under pressure and that I am a fast-learner.

I am a BA Fine art graduate and filmmaker from UAL (University of the Arts London). Due to the quality of my work that I produced throughout this course, I received a first and I am the winner of the Film and Video Prize. Which is evidence of my capability to work to deadlines and be innovative.

While at university I was Student Representative, Degree Show Committee Member and I worked part-time throughout my studies. Showing that I am a hard worker who is willing to graft to achieve their goals.

I am a creative that is obsessed with technology, if you want proof of this, look no further than my final piece for my degree which is a website for a fictitious cult that worships malfunctioning technology. It can be found here: https://k4rsten.wixsite.com/submit
