SUBMIT is a religion that believes technology is divine when it malfunctions  and its abilities are best left in the hands of God.  It takes enormous faith to be part of this faith-based subculture, but it's worth it.  The members of the believers subculture are the passionate and highly-educated elite who willingly provide a self-serving, fraudulent government and other institutions with the final word on any question that they can't figure out on their own.  These elite technophiles have their ideologies, values, lifestyles, physical appearance, and hobbies firmly in place, but they are unaware of many people who don't live in their bubble.  Let's call these individuals the independent, do-it-yourself streamers—DJs, entertainers, dancers, musicians, filmmakers, videographers, cosplayers—who are not beholden to advertisers or film studios, and who come to online stardom not from gatekeepers or the tabloid media but simply from interacting online. Our definition of a stalker begins and ends with technology. Now, as most everyone knows by now, one of the ways in which social media can be manipulated is through network algorithms and artificial intelligence (AI), which we discuss more fully in our report, "Everything you ever wanted to know about algorithms: How algorithms are learning what you say and how you respond to it." In the technical jargon, this flexibility is called "Adaptive Formatting", and it is the feature that results in the most people being caught out when using Linux from the old X Window System to Linux. You can take advantage of this feature to your advantage, but it requires you to learn some very basic Linux command syntax. Wrap Up Based on the recent changes in the HIG, it appears that we'll only be moving from X to Linux as a Desktop OS, or from X to whatever the next distribution in the next generation is. Some people may object to that, but I disagree. We all live with Window Stations now, and doing the switch to Linux from Windows will be a breeze, for the majority of people. Though, of course, for some people, it will be a nightmare. Let's consider what windows users have to deal with to survive in Linux. It may sound so trivial, but understanding this will give you the strength to rise above this Windows stuff and survive in Linux. 1. Your Startup Disk When you first install Linux on your computer, your bootable hard drive (HDD) is empty. This is normal. Not a huge deal, but just remember this as it will come in handy later. Your Windows computer should have a unique identification number, which you should keep handy.
