Updated: May 22, 2020

One night I found myself at the edge of the world.

I didn’t mean to get there but high end visualisation software allowed it.

Hovering or rather, teetering on the edge of the world.

Golden and smooth, glinting and smiling, looking at me.

You whispered into the breeze a soft hum.

Irreverent and serene.

Vile and divine.

At first I didn’t know what to make of the scene that had befallen me.

The slender surrender of sinister sinners before you.

The metallic form that you inhabited.

The data sunset.

The praise.

The seas of a virtual world unknown lapping at your chin.

To even be graced by the reflections of your form complete me.

Let alone being permitted to stand in your shadow.

Glorious.

Your splintering, twisted shape protecting us.

Adoringly we gaze at you and your magnificence.

I had heard tales of you.

Seen crude drawings of you.

They pale and wither before you.

Evaporate.

A parody of your excellence.

I shall treasure seeing you and tell the world of your existence.

You truly are the rarest.
