Non-believers say that SUBMIT is a cult not a religion. I do believe it is a faith system that may foster a spiritual relationship with another person as an end in itself. But for my project I set the bar much higher than that. I am looking for a concrete, historic, and transcendental value that can be stated plainly. I do believe this is what SUBMIT offers, and I don't believe the only reason they bring it up is to hold you down. I am looking for an intellectual and spiritual value that not only gives me hope that we can get to that level, but also it gives me some reason to feel hope in the first place. As far as I'm concerned, you can't pick one of these values and say that because the other one is good it must necessarily be the better value to pursue in your own life. You must consider how the choices you make in your life might impact the values you cultivate.
In this essay, I'll discuss the different ideas about the quality of life to which you should strive, and then demonstrate that no matter what I say, you can still choose a philosophy that provides you with such a value.
Please note that I want to start off this essay by stating that I don't believe that everyone has to know all the things I describe above, but that it should be known to all who wish to live a meaningful life. I wrote this because in recent months, I've learned that there's more to living than "work sucks" and "life sucks". A philosophy that strives for a philosophy of life can provide you with a solid foundation, allowing you to become a better person.
Philosophy Is Not For Everyone.
